A new partnership for 2023: The Roundhouse Foundation invests in Oregon Venture Fund

Launched in 2002 and based in Sisters, Oregon, The Roundhouse Foundation has made a deep commitment to supporting rural and Tribal communities across Oregon for over 20 years. The foundation began as a tool to support the arts and creativity in Sisters, Oregon created by local artist Kathy Deggendorfer with support from her mother, Gert Boyle.  In 2019 Roundhouse Foundation grew exponentially, after Gert’s passing.  Executive Director and Trustee, Erin Borla, Deggendorfer’s daughter, is delivering on her family’s legacy of hard work and generous giving to grow the size and impact of the unique private family foundation.

As we shared information about Oregon Venture Fund with Erin last September, it was clear that our values are aligned. She and her fellow trustees maintain a vision to create positive impact through collaboration in communities by encouraging creative problem solving and innovative programming to stimulate local, and specifically rural, economies. We at OVF encourage collaboration among investors and entrepreneurs to develop world class companies that aim to solve problems and benefit our region’s economy.

We are pleased to announce The Roundhouse Foundation is joining OVF as an investment partner in both the 2023 and XV Funds this year. Their significant $1.2M commitment and partnership will help OVF achieve our goal of investing $20M in 2023. In addition, we hope to strengthen our connections with entrepreneurs and other prospective investors in rural Oregon as we work together to improve Oregon’s economy.

If you or someone you know is connected to a private family foundation, please consider sharing information about OVF with them today. Contact Melissa Freeman if you have any questions.
