OVF 2024 Annual Meeting

May 2024

Lynn Fletcher

We want to thank our investors, portfolio leaders, and special guests for joining us for the Oregon Venture Fund’s 2024 Annual Meeting.

Our goals for the annual meeting are to (1) inform & inspire, (2) honor, celebrate, & thank our entrepreneurs & investors, (3) strengthen our fund's culture & sense of community, and (4) have fun.

We recognized investors receiving the coveted crystal OVFie awards for their many contributions to the fund and our venture community, and to Mac Lavier and team at GearUp Sports for their good citizenship and dedication to supporting youth and their involvement in sports.  In appreciation, the Oregon Venture Fund Giving Fund is contributing $2,500 in GearUp’s honor to the charity of their choice: The Hillsboro Healthy Kids program.

This year our investors heard from the CEOs/founders of several portfolio companies: Opal, Wicked Saints, Salt & Straw, and Magnify. We had an enlightening discussion with Eric Winquist & Scott Roth of Jama about the company’s founding, growth, and exit, and the many lessons learned along the way.  We hope attendees came away with a better understanding of each company’s progress and why their solutions are compelling, as well as a sense of our fund’s performance and economic/social impact on our region.

We also featured some entertainment to go along with this year’s theme, Oregon’s Got Talent!  Well-known musicians Stephanie Schneiderman & Tony Furtado delighted us, opening the afternoon. Another great talent was, illusionist, Nate Jester, amazing all throughout the meeting and at the reception with jaw dropping tricks.

Finally, we’d like to thank and recognize the wonderful support we had for this event.  Andrea Lonas Photography captured every moment throughout the afternoon.  Vibrant Table provided delicious catering, and Portland Center Stage is a great venue for a theater style meeting.

Thanks all!
