Why an Annual Cycle?

September 2024
Much of the world follows an annual cycle based on the Gregorian calendar. At OVF we too have embraced this and find many positive outcomes from the structure and predictability it provides.
As mentioned in our, Origin Story, when deciding on a structure for the Oregon Venture Fund we wanted to be creative and find what best suited our investors and entrepreneurs. That’s why each year OVF organizes and launches a new $15M fund.
Entrepreneurs tell us they want predictability, the ability to raise money, get advice, and introductions, when they need it. On their timeframe. Our annual structure allows us to do just that. We are always “open for business”, with new cash, investors, excitement, and the drive to make it happen each and every year
This also works well for our investor base. In tandem with the rise of software subscription business models, OVF pioneered the concept of venture-as-a-service. Starting as a grassroots organization, we continue to meet year-round with prospective individual investors, family offices, and institutional investors in our region to ensure they are aware of the opportunity to invest locally, make an impact, and potentially receive superior returns. Reach out to Melissa Freeman to learn about how you can invest in the next generation of world class companies.
Like entrepreneurs, with great optimism we look forward to 2025 and the planning starts now! Our 2025 fund is now open to accredited investors. We hope you will consider joining us.
